Jeff's Journey
My commitment to public service is deeply rooted in my journey as a Peruvian immigrant and my belief in the power of community. As a founding member of The Path of Hope Foundation, I helped provide wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility equipment to people with disabilities in underserved cities across Peru.
One moment that has stayed with me was meeting a young woman who received a donated wheelchair and used it to start selling goods and earning an income to support her family. Seeing how a simple act of assistance could restore independence, dignity, and opportunity reinforced a lesson I carry with me today: when we empower people with the tools they need to succeed, we can create lasting change in their lives and communities.
My professional experience has given me a deep understanding of economic development, business strategy, and effective leadership. For more than 15 years, I have served as the Founder and CEO of G & K Management LLC, overseeing investments, managing assets, and identifying opportunities for long-term growth.
Before that, I spent nearly a decade working as an attorney specializing in international asset recovery, building expertise in business negotiations, project development, finance, mergers and acquisitions, and international commerce. My work across both North and Latin American markets has given me a unique perspective on economic opportunity and responsible governance.
As a fluent Spanish and Portuguese speaker, I have worked across cultures and markets throughout the Americas. These experiences have strengthened my belief that thoughtful leadership, fiscal responsibility, and strategic investment are essential to building stronger communities and expanding opportunities for everyone.
While my professional experience has taken me around the world, my heart has always been in Ward 5. As a proud resident for more than 20 years, I have built my life in this community and remain deeply committed to its future. I enjoy sharing the history and culture of our city with neighbors, including through personal tours of the National Basilica, helping foster a sense of community pride and connection.
My commitment to service is matched by a commitment to lifelong learning. I hold a Master of International Law, Commerce, and Finance from American University and an MBA in Leadership Development from Johns Hopkins University. Combined with my business experience and deep roots in Ward 5, these experiences have given me a unique perspective—one that blends global expertise with a local understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our community.
