Issues
Addressing the Ward 5 community.

Housing Affordability
A New Vision for Housing in Ward 5: We will champion fiscally responsible policies that prioritize first-time homeownership and eliminate the systemic inefficiency that burdens our taxpayers and communities. We will secure the future of Ward 5 by delivering streamlined support and means-tested solutions to ensure every resident has stable and affordable housing.
Healthcare
We must acknowledge that even with three major hospitals in Ward 5, crushing costs prevent our most vulnerable neighbors from accessing the care they deserve. Our plan calls for immediate regulatory reform and cost transparency to bring down soaring prices for every Ward 5 family, ensuring quality healthcare is affordable and accessible to all.
Public Safety
Accountability and Safe Streets: We will implement the rigorous oversight and disciplined resource management necessary to restore law and order. Twenty years of one-party rule has led to a failure in delivering the most basic government function: safety. We demand better than broken promises—we demand results.

Addressing more about Ward 5 community

Mixed-Use Districts
Creating more key areas like Union Market (the redeveloped Florida Avenue Market) and the McMillan Sand Filtration Site are being transformed into major mixed-use centers with residential, retail, and open space components.
Education Quality
Concerns persist about uneven results in public education and the decline of neighborhood schools, which affects families' investment in the community. Technical and vocational education is the key for our next generation of students, as the four-year degree path is looking to be unattractive.
Public Services
Safe, reliable transportation is vital for every Ward 5 resident, and that begins with immediately enforcing our existing laws to stop fare evasion and reduce crime on Metro. We must stop prioritizing speed camera revenue over actual street safety and demand efficiency from WMATA, ensuring every transportation dollar serves riders and taxpayers first.
